Concrete has been an integral part of our landscapes for centuries, chosen for it's flexibility of design options and enforcing qualities. Denver concrete contractors can install concrete patios, walkways, steps and stairs with many choices in color, pattern and texture. Concrete is installed within Denver landscapes as, to name a few, plain "gray" concrete, Colored concrete, Stamped concrete, exposed aggregate, and also for concrete footings for retaining walls. The Denver climate requires skilled concrete companies for concrete installations. With the freeze / thaw cycle that we have, it is important that your Denver area concrete contractor understands the reinforcement and layout of the concrete that is being installed. Your contractor will need to provide sufficient prep work and compaction before installing a rebar grid. Quite common among Denver area concrete contractors is to install patios and walkways with rebar at a minimum of 2' x 2' grid, tied together with wire ties. Some concrete contractors will also add fiber to the concrete itself, which strengthens the structure. Avoid concrete installations that use wire mesh only. Wire mesh, while it will hold concrete together, is not sufficient for a long lasting concrete patio or walkway. Concrete Patios or walkways with wire mesh may look good when installed, but are more prone to deteriorate over time. When selecting a Denver area concrete contractor, verify these things with your salesperson and have a good understanding of how your concrete will be installed.
